Muay Thai Thailand is regarded as the most popular and ancient sport in Thailand. This sport unlike any other sport in the world has a spiritual touch to it. Playing this sport needs a lot of training, strength and dedication.
Muay Thai is a form of unarmed combat between two fighters. The game is said to be existed in 1411 or even before that. As said before, Muay Thai can be a very tough and dangerous game and bearing the same consequences, it was banned in 1920 to avoid the violence that it caused. But the game regained it’s lost glory in 1937 when the permission of this sport was granted but along with the addition of some rules which are still followed strictly.
If you have ever seen a Muay Thai fight, you might have noticed the spiritual part of the sport as they perform a little prayer before the game starts. The prayer is made to Wai Kru who is considered to be the teacher of the sport. Not only the players but also the Muay Thai training gym Thailand takes it very seriously and teach the trainees well about the spiritual connection of the sport. The matches also include a ceremonial dance which is known as Ram Muay.
As far as the dressing is concerned, you will see fighters wearing a hoop n the head that is removed by the coach to indicate the start of the fight. Fighters also wear an amulet of Buddha and some herbs which are considered to be the bringer of good luck for the fighters.
The matches are conducted under the supervision of 3 judges seated at three different sides of the ring. The match contains 5 rounds, 3 minutes each. The fighters can rest in between the rounds and sip water and get some precious advice from the coach.
I’ve been associated to a lot of the martial arts school, to name a few, the Kung Fu, the Karate, the Judo, the kick boxing etc. At present I am sticking with only one school as I have been fortunate enough to found out the one that I really wanted. So, now the question arises that what is the way of finding the perfect martial school for you? The simple answer is that just try a few of the lessons in all of the style. Easy stuff, isn’t it? No, it isnt! From my personal experience, I can say that it took me a good bit of time trying to find the perfect martial arts. The main issue in finding the perfect martial arts lies in finding the perfect teacher.
It’s more important to get hold of a good martial art teacher than the style you wish doing. This is simply because all of your learning or the techniques come right from that one very person i.e. your instructor. You are going to learn the martial arts right from the teacher and surely not from the name of the school you are in. For an instance, you opt to go to a karate school with a view to learn Karate. But, the person who instructs showed you the techniques from the Brazilian Jiu Jutsu. Where you expected learning karate, you got lessons on the Brazilian Jiu Jutsu. Therefore, it was just one teacher instructing another form of martial art.
One more issue I came across in finding the perfect style was the way following each of the instructor trains. A lot of the schools are very conventional. For an instance, you require bowing to your teacher or the fellow students’ right before you spar or show a technique. There are also etiquettes to practice whenever you need to have conversation with an instructor. Majority of the schools like the karate and the kung fu schools go for practicing katas or the forms for major share of the class time. Again, there are schools where they simply spar and rarely provide you with a demonstration of a particular technique. So it actually varies profusely mainly depending on the teacher and the school. The only method of finding out is to give a shot to the class. This will consume some time of yours but will certainly be good.
Finally it can be said that, in order to find the perfect Martial Arts school for you, you’ll simple require to keep searching unless you feel that its the right one for you.If you find your favorite school, create sport emblems of your team logo and start promoting it to your friends.
